Automobile Failed Smog Check And Need Financial Assistance? Apply For The California Department Of Consumer Repairs Bureau Of Automotive Repair Consumer Assistance Program (CAP). Receive financial assistance up to $500 for Smog Check Repairs or up to $1,000 for a Retired Vehicle. Financial assistance awarded to qualified applicants according to availability of funding. To determine eligibility, download a Consumer Assistance Program Application.
